Privacy Policy
Pup AI is a private dog-health journal and research companion. We use data only to operate the features you choose, protect the service, support purchases, and improve reliability. We do not sell personal data.
This policy applies to the Pup AI mobile app, website, and related services operated by AKRO-in. d.o.o. ("AKRO-in," "we," "us"). AKRO-in is the controller of personal data described here. Contact us at support@akro-in.si.
Information Pup AI handles
- Account information: Firebase user identifier and, if you choose Apple or Google sign-in, the name and email those services make available.
- Your dog and journal: dog name, breed, age, sex, weight, profile photo, tracked items, protocols, schedules, observations, notes, and reminder choices.
- Research assistant: questions, responses, cited links, and conversation history.
- Public community posts: onboarding can display public post text and preview media sourced from X. When preview images load, X can receive technical request data such as the page URL, IP address, browser or device information, and cookies under its own privacy terms.
- Support: messages and files you choose to send through Crisp, a stable support identifier, and account name or email when available.
- Purchases: subscription status, product identifiers, and transaction or entitlement information handled by Apple and RevenueCat. Pup AI does not receive your full payment-card details.
- Technical and usage data: app version, platform, feature interactions, coarse onboarding choices, diagnostics, crash information, and service-protection counters. Our custom analytics intentionally exclude dog names, breed, exact age or weight, journal notes, entered amounts, custom labels, and calculator inputs or results.
- Permissions you choose: notification settings, camera or photo-library access, microphone and speech-recognition access.
Where information is stored
Your journal is stored on your device and, while you use an account, in a private Firebase record associated with your user identifier. Assistant conversation history is stored locally and in your private Firebase record so it can be restored across sessions. Local reminder settings and identifiers may be included in synced app state.
Research assistant and speech input
When you submit a research question, our Firebase backend sends the question and necessary context to OpenAI to generate a response and may enable web search for sources. We keep request-count records to enforce usage limits and protect the service. The assistant is informational, may be inaccurate, and is not veterinary advice.
If you use dictation, audio is provided to Apple's speech-recognition services to convert it to text. Pup AI uses the resulting text and does not intentionally retain the audio recording.
Why we use information
- To provide the journal, synchronization, reminders, research assistant, subscription access, and support you request.
- To authenticate accounts and restore purchases.
- To secure the service, enforce fair-use limits, diagnose failures, and prevent abuse.
- To understand feature performance using limited analytics and improve Pup AI.
- To comply with legal, accounting, and App Store obligations.
These uses rely on performing our agreement with you, your choices or consent for optional permissions, our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable service, and legal obligations where applicable.
Service providers
We use service providers only for the functions described above: Apple (sign-in, purchases, notifications, speech recognition), Google Firebase (authentication, database, functions, analytics, and crash reporting), OpenAI (assistant responses), X (public-post preview media and original-source links shown in onboarding), RevenueCat (subscription entitlements and customer center), Crisp IM SAS (support chat when opened), and Capgo (app web-bundle updates). Depending on configuration and permission, Meta may receive limited attribution events; Pup AI does not use this data to sell personal profiles. These providers can process technical request data such as IP address, device or app version, and diagnostics under their own terms.
Sharing and international transfers
We do not sell personal data. We share data with the providers above only as needed to operate their feature, when you direct us to, or where law requires it. Some providers process data outside Slovenia or the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on recognized safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and synced journal data while your account is active. Using Delete account removes the app's synced journal and assistant history, signs out the account, and clears local app data. Local data may also remain in device backups controlled by you. Providers can retain limited backups, fraud-prevention, security, support, transaction, or legal records under their own documented schedules. Apple purchase records and records required for accounting cannot always be deleted by Pup AI.
You can delete individual entries in the app, delete all journal data, or delete the account from Profile. For a support conversation, analytics record, or other privacy request, contact support@akro-in.si.
Your choices and rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection where applicable, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier processing. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority; in Slovenia this is the Information Commissioner. Notification, photo, microphone, and speech permissions can be changed in iOS Settings.
Children
Pup AI is designed for dog owners and is not directed to children. If you are not old enough to agree to these terms in your country, use Pup AI only with a parent or legal guardian.
Security and changes
We use access controls, encrypted network connections, private user-scoped database rules, and reasonable operational safeguards. No system can guarantee absolute security. We will post material policy updates here and update the date above.
